Appearance: Kaiba has brown hair, blue eyes, and stands at just over six feet tall. He has a very pleasant smile, but you'll certainly never see it, and the wise ones wouldn't bother trying to work it out of him. When he isn't scowling or looking perfectly indifferent, you might catch a glimpse at a teeth-baring, crooked sort of smirk that's often a direct response to someone else's mistakes or a subtle way of calling somebody an idiot.
He always dresses professionally in sleek, expensive suits at work, while a sensible sweater of a darker shade and tailored slacks are his idea of casual.
Personality: Aloof yet hazardous when provoked, Kaiba has the mind of a genius and the sociability of your average porcupine. He's rarely outright rude or unfriendly, but never one to go out of his way to make others feel comfortable, either. He has little patience for ignorance, loathes stupidity, and generally acts as though any word or action which doesn't accomplish something useful is a chore.
Though he may feign indifference or proclaim he doesn't give a damn about this or that on a routine basis, he's much more curious and perceptive than he lets on. It's only when bored or feeling particularly ornery that Kaiba crafts his quiet observations to sound like cutting insults or uses the knowledge he gleans from them to manipulate the behaviors of others for better or for worse.
He considers himself a fair and honest person. Fairness, in his opinion, includes reaping what you sow, weakness or stupidity being worthy of punishment in his eyes, although he nevertheless has a carefully guarded soft spot for those who struggle or suffer for reasons beyond their control.
Honesty, especially the brutal kind, is the easiest and safest way to stay off of his bad side and earn of a modicum of respect from him. His sense of humor (if enough of it exists to call it that) is dry and ironic, but verges on caustic at times.

In-Game History: Seto was a happy accident for an older, bookish couple who hadn't planned on having children. He grew up a serious, introverted, and relatively spoiled child. A straight-A student and chess team captain, he was one of the only so-called nerds in school who didn't quite look the part and was clever enough to use his intelligence to intimidate the other kids rather than allow them the opportunity to stuff him in a locker like the others. In fact, his mouth and his tendency to make games of emphasizing other people's faults got him into trouble on occasion.
He graduated early and enrolled in Harmony U. Early into his college life, both of his parents passed away peacefully in their sleep, within just months of each other. Later, Seto invested the inheritance in a home of his own.
After graduating college, he settled for a position as a mathematics professor at the university and has been there ever since. Some semesters, he takes on several speech communication sections as well.
